monday.com New Features - How to Spot Project Risks Early with AI

The Portfolio Risk insights is a feature available exclusively within the portfolio management solution. Powered by AI, it automatically analyzes data from each of your project boards and generates daily a list of potential risks for each projects. With this amazing feature, you'll be able to proactively identify and address risks across your entire portfolio. Let's dive in!

Add Risk Insights to your portfolio

In your portfolio, click on the “Add view” + button and choose Risk insights:

Once added, monday AI will scan all project boards linked to your portfolio reviewing item names, column values, update sections, and the activity log. It will then generate a list of potential risks for each project. This list will be automatically updated on a daily basis. You will be able to see at a glance which projects are high-risk and require immediate attention.

The overview bar at the top of the page displays the number of projects at risk, their severity from high to none, and key trends, giving you a quick snapshot of your portfolio’s risk status.

Analyze and address risks

The list is organized by project, starting with those that have the highest number of "high risk" items. Filter projects by risk severity and risk type, and select "High severity" to focus on the most critical ones. Expand a project to explore all associated risks, their severity, descriptions, and related tasks.

You can address the risk directly from this view and even notify the project owner by clicking on "notify project owner" as so:

AI will generate a pre-filled update summarizing the risk and linking the related tasks, so you can notify the project owner instantly.

To make risk filters tailored to your needs, you can customize them by choosing which risk types to include in the filtering options:

Generate AI report

Generate an AI report with just one click—an executive summary highlighting key portfolio trends and risks.

Portfolio AI report will be generated as a separate monday doc, featuring an executive summary, a pie chart of project health statuses, key highlights, project metrics, and a risk insights synopsis.

Similar to Risk insights, the AI report updates daily as projects evolve.

Note: Currently, the portfolio AI report is part of the portfolio solution and will not count towards your account’s AI credit usage. In the future, this may require AI credits.

Who can view Risk insights

To view the AI Risk insights, you must have access to all projects linked to your portfolio. If you don't have permission to access data from one or more projects, you can request access from the admin as shown below:
